Equine Assited Phychotherapy (EAP) is a collaborative effort between a lisensed therapist (Beverley Bellard), clients, and horeses to address mental health and behavioral treatment goals.
EAP is experiemental in nature. Cleitnts learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with horses, and then discussing feelings, behaviors and patterns.
EAP focuses on using ground activities involving the horses, which will require the client or group to apply certain skills. The horses are use as metaphores for real life.
Non-verbal communication, leadership, responsibility, teamwork, relationships, and attitude are examples of areas developed by EAP.
Our program is exactuted by an EAGALA Certified Equine Assisted Psychotherapist, Licensed in the State of Idaho and credentialed by the National Board of Certified Counselors.
